Since the cylinder block of the EJ engine has a structure that sandwiches the crankshaft and generates power, a strong load is applied to the bolts that fasten the block. The stress on the cylinder due to the generated power induces deformation of the main journal that supports the crank, leading to increased friction and metal trouble. The TOMEI main bolt has a high yield strength design to prevent deformation of the cylinder block and ensure rigidity.
